Codes of Practice and PoliciesAs it is the sector of the Australian communications industry that is designed and encouraged to promote community access and participation, it is desirable that volunteers are largely responsible for the operations of community broadcasting stations. This is particularly so with 2CHR, where all staff are volunteers drawn from the community. The Broadcasting Services Act 1992 (the Act) outlines the legal framework for community broadcasting and explains the role the sector plays in delivering diverse media services that reflect a sense of Australian identity, character and cultural diversity. Compiled in consultation with stations and sympathetic industry organisations, the Community Radio Codes of Practice (the Codes) set out principles and policies for the operation of community broadcasting stations. This page gives access to that document and also to relevant documents and policies of Central Hunter Community Broadcasters Incorporated (2CHR). Links to downloadable/printable PDFs... |
